Anthea's Codex block for Linsay

Just managed to complete this block today and snapped the photo in the fading winter daylight.  Phew.  June had lots of distractions.

I enjoyed the challenge of finding fabrics for you Linsay.  Such fun sifting through my stash and meandering through my local shops trying to coordinate it all.  I searched hard for a lively critter for the centre square to add energy and life, but the best ones I found were all on pale backgrounds that just didn't work.  Somehow this rose just connected everything together - maybe it is the strength of the background.
I am looking forward to seeing how you piece the whole quilt together Linsay.
