Quilting on a snowy day in Canada

I just had to share this view! I'm working on a quilt for myself, and am enjoying the beautiful soft snow fall. Peaceful. I just heard our baby wake up, so it looks like this time is over for today, but it was lovely while it lasted!

  1. Amy, that is such a pretty view. You are so lucky to be able to work near a window (I love watching the snow coming down!). I wish I had more flexibility with my sewing area. Glad to see you are working on something for yourself. Keep us updated on your progress!

  2. Hi Amy, It looks very calm and beautiful in your sewing room. Those moments are very special and it feels so nice when you can savour them, even if it is just for a short while before the baby wakes up. We read a poem at school called 'Snow' written by Louis MacNeice and it is about one of those amazing moments when you feel the beauty of the world intensely and momentarily. His moment is inspired by a vase of roses in front of a window on a snowy day. I'll put a copy of it on bee buzz and you can read it for yourself. I think it captures that mood very well.

    1. Thanks for the poem Linsay. I had one of those amazing moments just this past Saturday morning. It was about 7:30, my husband had just left for a day of skiing, the house was quiet, I had a bunch of candles lit, the snow was falling hard outside, and I was sitting curled up on the couch with a big cup of delicious coffee watching it come down. Perfect peaceful moment!
