Spiders are Beautiful!

These were such fun blocks to make! I hope they are what you were hoping for Amy.

After making the first triangle, I chain pieced the rest of them together which I think made the process a little faster. This was completely a scrap project. All of those little strips of fabric that I have been saving and wondering what I would ever use them for, finally found a lovely use.
Since this is the beginning of the month I should be able to get two more made for you in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks Amy for teaching us something new!

  1. Gorgeous! I love them! Yes, this is a great stash buster. Thank you so much for creating these lovely blocks for me! How did you chain piece? That is the strategy I just learned and talked about in Bee Buzz. I would love to see how to do it with these blocks!

    1. Glad you like them Amy! To chain piece these I just sewed on a strip to the triangle and then sewed a strip to the next triangle etc. without stopping to raise the presser foot or cut thread between pieces. After all 8 triangles had been fed through I cut the connecting threads and started a strip at a time all over again.

  2. Lovely and bright Jennifer! This is such a very cheerful pattern. I'm studying the pattern and Amy's changes, and just want to confirm...we don't add a 1/4" allowance when connecting the dots and therefore line up our first strip of fabric directly on the pencil line?. Does that sound right?

    1. Exactly, no 1/4" allowance, just connect the dots. The photo she added to the post with the yellow lines is exactly what I did and it works out perfectly.
