I must have taken a hundred photos as I worked on it. I just think the colors and fabrics look so cool!!
And during a lunch break yesterday my kitty thought it was a nice place to take a nap:
Thank you again everyone for contributing your time, creativity, and fabric to our International Stashes Bee!
...........................................................
It was a Swiss holiday in my canton so I had the day off and a few extra hours to quilt. I also finished Lindsay's block:
Lindsay, I will get it in the mail tomorrow. You are also going to have a beautiful quilt to show off! The blue fabric in the bottom right corner came from my grandmother's stash. I think it is from the 1960s. Does anyone know how to research fabrics? There was no marking on it.
Have a good week!
Jennifer
wow that looks great!!! Lovely to see in come together so nicely!
ReplyDeleteLovely block for Lindsay too
Amazing work Jennifer. I'm so impressed with how you whip things together and really like your machine quilting pattern:)) What a lovely colourful quilt to treasure!
ReplyDeleteIt is fantastic! This makes me want to rush downstairs and work on mine...it is on my design wall..just trying to finish up blocks for people first!!!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt looks great. I really like the different areas of dark and light. Does it look like that in real life or did that only show up in the photo? It is very exciting to see one our quilts completed. I showed the pictures to Flora she made no remark about the quilt but LOVED your cat.
ReplyDeleteThank you for making me such a lovely block and I feel honoured to have a precious piece of you grandmother's stash.
Linsay.
Hi Linsay, The areas of dark and light show up more in the photo. The photo does not communicate accurately how beautiful this quilt is in real life. Even my husband who is usually quite neutral about these quilting projects commented, "Wow that is a pretty quilt, it's so bright!" And that was said without me even telling him first that he had to make a positive statement about my new quilt. He just looked over and said it all by himself! :-))
DeleteJennifer. I am so delighted by the finished product! And very motivated too by the work you've done with the blocks. I saw this post and it immediately motivated me to start sewing my own blocks together and finishing the top. Step by step. I love the stories you share about your sewing, and am so delighted by this network we've formed of friends sharing stories, pictures and fabric. Much love...K
ReplyDeleteWow! Looks great! I love how it all came together. Did you do the swirly quilting yourself? So much fun. :)
