Amy (USA)'s Spiders

I had my sewing machine home long enough to complete these spider blocks! I really enjoyed putting these together! I was able to chain piece the majority of the blocks which made them come together really quickly. This is going to be a bright quilt! Now my machine has gone back to the repairman because he put a piece in wrong and it has the potential to shred thread-ugh! Fortunately the dealer was nice enough to send me home with the floor model sewing machine so I won't be without one! 6 weeks was too long!  I have gotten quite a few hexagons sewn together by hand though! Making lemonade out of lemons :)

  2. Eventually I will make them into quilt. I kind of making a Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt. I am using the 1" hexagons from Paper Pieces and retro 1930"s fabrics. I started it to have something to do while at all my kids' activities, but have been doing it quite a bit at home with my machine out of commission. I have 11 flowers done so far. The best tip I learned is to use a washable glue stick to "baste" the fabric to the paper hexagons-it holds well and the paper pulls out once I have it all stitched together!
