Amy's (Canada) square for Linsay

This square came together much more quickly than I thought! The directions were amazing. Thanks Linsay! I hope you have a sense of humor, Linsay, and are not offended by my raccoon on fire in the middle. My brother (a Buddhist monk in India) bought this fabric for me ages ago, and I love putting bits of it in special pieces. The whole repeat is of this poor raccoon on a camping trip that is tortured by a fox and a rabbit. Here he is on fire, in another sequence he is tied up, and another is drowning. Kind or morbid, but I have to admit, I like it! Anyway, I like how this came together. I hope you do too, Linsay!

  1. Amy, I love your block, the raccoon on fire is absolutely fantastic. I read out your post to the rest of my family and we were all laughing our heads off. The raccoon has surpassed all my expectations of what could turn up in the middle of the blocks.
I love the blocks made by Jennifer and Amy. The variety of fabrics and patterns is going to make this a great quilt. I am glad that the block has turned out to be quite quick to make. The cutting out does require concentration but after that everything seems to fall into place easily. Thank you all for these terrific blocks.

  2. Love it, Amy!! The raccoon is so funny and your fabric choices are wonderful!

  3. That raccoon is pretty cute Amy. He is so worthwhile to have in the middle of the block.

  4. I would love to see the rest of the fabric! Your block is great!

  5. Okay, that Racoon is the funniest thing I have seen in a piece of fabric. Good for a laugh today. Your block looks great Amy. Shauna
