Anthea's Charity Block 2014

I didn't have any cute creatures in my stash, so I spent quite some time trawling through the kids section of my local fabric shop. And then some trying to pick a contrast for the centre frame.  I kept coming back to that marvellous Kaffe Fassett purple - it's so full-on isn't it? I knew I had the wobbly stripe at home and so in the end I've made something quite bold that I hope doesn't detract from the cute octopus.
Thanks ever so Katy for coordinating this year's charity quilt.

  1. Andrea, I love the bold contrast and the cute octopus. The final quilt will be great. I must get round to my charity block soon. Thank you for my block, the colours and tones are perfect. It arrived a couple of days ago, and I love the Margaret Preston postcard. I saw an exhibition of her work at the Art Gallery of New South Wales when we lived in Sydney and I just love her work. The way she captured the subtle blue/green shades of the Aussie foliage is lovely and her bold style is beautiful. How nice to have an extra surprise in the envelope with the block.
