And Another January Block..

Here is my January block for Jennifer. I had a crash course and helping hand from Linsay (thank-you again!) and am really pleased with the outcome. Jennifer, I hope it fits well with the other blocks you receive. The tan brown and red look similar in the photo but stand apart in daylight.

Although I don't have a presser foot with the 0.25" seam allowance, I am easily able to reposition my needle to still achieve the correct seam allowance with the standard foot. Not great long term, but adequate until a quarter inch foot arrives soon in the post.

Will pop in the post

  3. Looks great Claire, I love the variations in red & orange. Welcome along.
When I started last year I bought myself a quarter inch foot, tried it several times, got very frustrated, and have returned to using my standard foot where there is a speck of dust stuck perfectly where I line the fabric up for a scant quarter inch seam. Works a treat every time!

  4. So glad to have you with us Claire! I wondered if you and Linsay would get together to work on this one. It's perfect. I'm loving all the reds that are being used in these blocks. Pam, if you are reading this, your block just arrived yesterday. Thank you! I have it pinned up next to mine and they are beautiful together. I have a feeling this quilt will get finished much more quickly than the quilt from last January! Thanks again everyone, I really love how they are all turning out.
